Paul and Amy of Unique Pet Care are true pet professionals! Not only can I rely on them to care for my kitties, but my box turtle, as well, demonstrating time and time again their expertise with all animals. I have a flock of 4 parakeets that Amy and Paul have helped with since 2015. In January 2022 my oldest bird Nigel became ill and since has needed medication twice a day. This involves capturing Nigel in a cloth, prying his sweet little beak open to get his tiny dose in with a dropper. We both hate this process but we have to follow the doctor’s orders. If we skip even 1 dose his symptoms come back and seeing him suffer is heartbreaking. I don’t have kids and travel a lot, sometimes with very late notice. I’ve been able to count on them especially since Nigel has needed his medication. I have kept birds over the years because when they are in good health they can be pretty low maintenance. Never worried about leaving them on their own for a night or 2. Paul & Amy came over so I could show them the new drill with his meds since we were taking a trip the following week. Amy offered several tips to keep Nigel and the flock healthy. She coincidentally worked as a vet tech at Goldenview Animal Hospital where I have taken my birds for over a decade. They have their own birds. I am so thankful I found these guys. I totally trust that they are capable of caring for my babies while I’m away. I love my flock so much. They are little but have big unique personalities and their interactions with each other are hilarious and uplifting. They can live well over a decade with proper nutrition. Nigel’s 11 years old so we go way back. It’s really been a load off since he’s been chronically ill. He still sings and plays with the flock and does great as long as he gets his meds. I am very fortunate to have found Unique Pet Care. They are dependable, flexible, and my animals love them. I can really tell that the owners Paul and Amy are such animal people! They are always quick to respond to emails, texts, or calls. I have used them for boarding, dog walks, and check-ins for my cats while away. After boarding, my dog always comes home happy and tired after a good time. While checking in on the cats, Amy takes the time to give them plenty of attention and play time. I am so thankful to have found Amy and Paul. They’ve cat sat for our cat Harley for about a year and a half, and I can say undoubtedly that they are dependable, kind, and communicative people. Harley is extremely high anxiety and requires daily medication. They have shown him so much patience and understanding, even though he is super territorial of his space when we are away. We have been using Unique Pet Care for almost 20 years and have always had great service, whether it's a couple day visit or we are gone for a week or two. It is clear the owners, Paul and Amy, love what they do. They always provide a detailed log of each visit are easily accessible via text, phone, or email, and are happy to handle special requests. As our cat has grown older they have been very thoughtful in their approach to her care, adjusting their visits to ensure she gets the most out of them.
